I accidently bought some Ariat Half Chaps (the gaiter type with zip down back, pro chap I think they are called) the other day as they were reduced from £100 to £45. I usually wear long boots for competing or jod boots with casual chaps for riding. But I thought I would get some jod boots to go with them (just a cheapish pair) for my lessons or as spare comp boots.

Anyway I am not sure which type to go for. Either the classic type with the elastic at the sides or the ones with the zips at the front. Would the gaiter cover the zip?

I quite like these (please bear in mind I dont want to spend much)

But not sure if these would look better as they havnt got the patterned bit at the front

Or should I just go for the plain classic type?

Please help

I cant really justify spending that much really, I have better things to spend my money on at the moment. If they were for best then yes, but I have a nice pair of competition boots already, its just the jod boots I have are the waxy type and dont match at all

I have some Ariat jod boots with a front zip & non-Ariat gaiters, the gaiter doesn't cover the zip 100% but it doesn't look odd or anything. To me both boots look nice, the wider elastic bit on the DH boot would probably swing it for me.

I think either would be fine, I would probably go for the DH ones because they look shorter but looks wise under chaps I have no preference.
