Hi,

My boy was off last year for 9 months due to lamness. We never really got to the bottom of the cause but it did highlight problems with imbalances in his feet and very upright pasterns. My vet believes the lamness was probably cuased by the early onset of arthritis which he treated with catrofen (sp?) injections.

Anyway although he is now sound I am wondering whether he should be on a maintenance level joint supplement. What are your thoughts on what is best and where is the cheapest place to get it from?

Thanks for all your help

I use Newmarket Joint Supplement and it works very well for my TB with spavin. I get it from the vets as my insurance is paying for it at the moment. When that finishes I will probably get it off the internet as it will be cheaper.

Hi

I use a joint supplement called Arthri Aid. It has the highest level of glucosamine in a maintenence level that I could find.
I use it on my 23yr old who is now retired but really benefited from it when she was in work up to the age of 22! I also give it to my 7 yr old dressage mare who has had a lot of lameness issues in the past! and I have started to see a diff in her too.

It is off the internet from www.horsehealthwessex.co.uk and is only £38.95 I think. The website ppl are really helpfull too!
Or you can get it straight from the manufacturer which is nutri science.
Hope that helps:)
