I am going to a local PC show in a few weeks' time and I can't decide which jumping classes to do. I am almost certainly taking Daisy, the most fantastic 14hh pony, who I have seen go round a 3 ft - 3ft 3 course comfortably - but I'm not confident jumping that big.

The classes I could do are:
Clear round 1ft6 - only costs £3 and I enter on the day so could just do it anyway
Minimus 1ft- 1ft6. Have done this before, pony and I are confident to jump bigger so I think I might as well.
Novice 2ft - 2ft3.
Pairs class 2ft6 - I don't think I have a partner unless truffles brings Chloe, which she won't unless she has moved her.
Intermediate 2ft6-2ft9. I can't do minimus if I do this and vice versa. I'm confident to jump this size on Daisy but I've never done higher than 2ft3 at a show.

I'm doing 2 showing classes too, including WHP which is 2ft3-2ft6 (at this show I think it's only 4 jumps), so maybe it should just be one jumping class plus CR, although she is quite fit.

What do you think?

Hi, im a member of a pony club too!! i'd go for the 2ft6 - 2ft9 After all it is your decision and no-one knows you as a rider or your pony more than you do!
XX Good luck.

What ever you are comfortable doing on the day. I would go for the Novice and if you are happy maybe the intermediate afterwards?

yep that's a good plan. How many classes do you think it's fair to do? As I say she's fit, but the show day would normally be her day off - it's a Monday so she may be pretty tired after the weekend in the riding school.

I would say 2 classes and possibly a clear round would be ok. I would probably do the Novice and if that goes ok maybe the Intermediate. Good luck whatever you decide!

I'd do the novice and the intermediate if I were you...I think 2 rounds of jumping is plenty....along with the showing you are doing.
I guess if you wanted you could start the day off with a small clear round instead of the minimus.

Is that as well as my 2 showing classes? (doing tack and turnout too but at this show you just stand still for that!). Should probably think about money too actually - this may work out quite pricy!
