I probably wouldnt consider myself a true competition rider, more riding club and moving onto some bsja and BE.

However, I though people here would have some good advice. I am looking into investing in some show jumps. However everything I've looked at is very expensive, and the cheaper ones have been so far away that the shipping makes them the same price.

I live in northumberland, so does anyone know of a cheap place to buy some from? I was hoping for jumps to include fillers, spreads, uprights ect, so I understand it is difficult to get them too cheaply. I was also wondering if there was anywhere else, such as wood mills that can make poles etc, so i can would just have to buy the wings and fillers?

sorry for the novel, hope someone has some advice! thanks, Laura

Would you be able to ask a local joiner etc if they could do some for you? I have never asked but on site at our yard there are people who could do some. If you ring around they might be able to help you?

Speak to a local carpenter/handyman & tell them what you want. Show them pictures & give them some sizes & they should be able to make what you want. I made some, it isn't rocket science, I found the most difficult & time consuming thing was painting the things. I came to an understanding, I built them & someone else could paint them.
These are really good cups (below), they are well made, galvanised so don't rust & there are no pins to lose. I bought them & they are great.
