I have been thinking about treating myself or getting my OH to ;) to a pair of leather riding boots in my attempt to turn myself into a dressage diva ;):D. But which ones  I've never owned any, all i've ridden in are the cheap plastic ones :o
So looking at a budget of £200 ish, however nice the ariats may look or feel I can't justify spending £350 plus on boots :(
I've not tried any on yet......as my local tack shop only stock ariat

I quite like these.. http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/Equestr...+boots/Dublin+Monach+Field+Boots_554-0132.htm
or without the lace detail... http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/Equestr...+boots/Dublin+Monach+Dress+Boots_554-0128.htm

Probably more that I would like the look of :) but it's very hard to say whether I will like them in the flesh so to speak, design and fit. So looking for recommendations, ones to avoid or suggestions or where I can try them etc :)

Sorry nothing tasty to offer :D

Thanks for the suggestions, both look very nice :) think I need to find a place with a good selection to try, proving abit hard though :(

Look at Konigs-they are fab and last ages!yes I know the adult ones are outrageously exp but if you can source them and they fit you can get young rider boots for a fraction of the price (approx 200euro). I am a size 7 and average size 10 slim build and the young rider boots were a perfect fit for me!

I have JGL Boots - they are made to measure and cost 300 Euro, so just a bit over £200 but the quality is superb and they are so comfortable. A couple of friends ordered theirs at a competition just over three years ago and they are still in great shape.

It is a Spanish company but they speak English :)

Does anybody not like riding in long boots and prefer boots and gaitors still?

I went on the look out for Long boots at Hoys but ended up just buying a pair of Brogini short boots cause I didn't like anything else I tried on!

Tredstep Donatellos for the more budget end, or MH Supremes for perfect comfort & fit!

Oo now the Donatellos are nice, also like the Da Vinci :D
Just had a thought there is the equine fair down exeter in december so might wait til then and hopefully try some on :D:D

I've got a pair of Brogini's, on my 2nd pair :) Had Mountain Horse before but they didn't fit me at all so gave them to a friend!
I was actually awful to my first pair of Brogini's too, wore them for a whole winter, mucking out & everything (including wading through the 6" 'puddle' (lake!) by the muck heap on a regular basis, as I was too poor to buy any other boots or wellies :o They actually lived through that although I did replace them the following autumn!! I walked in them and all sorts (would wear them to school under my school trousers to keep my legs warm!).
Broginis in action! :D

Got that pair on offer too... (well, my dad did!) so extra bonus. Now saving for the ones with the laces right to the top.... hehe

Mark Todd Field Competition boots, love mine, so comfy and smart (and i am a boots chaps preference person). Definatley worth trying these on.
