Any ideas where is the best place to take out my 17hh to his 1st dressage comp? Been out of the game for a loooooooooooooooooong time so any help in where has best working in area etc would be great. No idea how he will react, hes quite sensible tho!
Do you think i should hire out a few different areans to see how he reacts?

Bit further for you to travel maybe but I would say Beaverhall in Bradnop Staffordshire. Fabulous working in areas (fenced), excellent competition arenas, friendly owners, staff and competitors.

Have a look at their website to see what you think
Good luck where ever you go.

Where abouts are you based. Would agree Beaver Hall is a brilliant place, took my mare for her first outings theres. Just be aware it is windy, even in the middle of summer

If youre in Cheshire, Alsager Equestrian Centre hold unaffiliated dressage every other Monday night, check their website. They have an outdoor and indoor for working in and main arena is quite nice although there is a spectators area and cafe (glass windows), down one side which might be a bit spooky.
