Which numnah for thin skinned tb?

I thought last year may have been a one off but sadly I'm mistaken, twig my 5yo is starting to lose hair over her saddle area (back panels) again this year as her coat is changing.

Her saddle absolutely fits....I've had the saddler out to check it every 6 months since I've bought it and he said its a common problem with some tb's. She isnt sore on them they are just very unsightly!

So......what to do before they get as bad as last year? Normally I just use a normal cotton numnah and a gel pad.....I'm thinking a sheepskin one will help? If so, I would like some recommendations for a very soft fluffy one! Had my eye on the jumping one that nuumed make as the shape would be perfect for her k2 jumping saddle but the nuumed wool doesnt look as soft as others i have seen?

I have all types of nuumed wool nums for both my TB's and they are excellent as long as you wash them properly.

I also have Bartl girth sleeves which appear softer but I haven't tried their nums.
 
I personally would't use a sheepskin one as they lose their fluffiness very quickly and stop doing their "job"

I really like POLYPADS they are nice and thick and provide maximum comfort
 
My mare has very sensitive skin and also goes patchy when her coat is changing.

I definitely recommend a sheepskin/pure wool numnah. I have had a couple for quite a while now, used regularly, washed regularly and they are still soft and fluffy. They wick away the sweat rather than rub it in.

I have one Mark Todd numnah that a very generous person on here sold me and I bought one off Ebay - no make, quite cheap but its genuine pure wool so has kept its properties.
 
lemieux or nuumed sheepskin - v fluffy and fabulous - mine has skin and (no hair as clipped) but he is parcment thin and not a mark on him!
 
The Nuumed high wither saddlecloths with half wool underneath are good- very soft and fluffy and does not have excess bulk, which would otherwise alter the fit of an already well fitting saddle. They are really nice and high over the wither as well. I have a couple of them in dressage versions however they do make them for Jumping/GP saddles too.

Also Mattes make something similar.
 
I use a Lemieu pro pure sheepskin half pad over a cottage craft square cotton numnah on my part TB/ID. He hates gel pads or prolites as they make him buck! He's happy with sheepskin/cotton.
