Hi I am looking for a GP/VSD saddle, my horse is a big Irish draught X and have been looking at three saddles has anyone got any advice/experience of these saddles and what did you like/dislike please.
Cavaletti GP or VSD
Arena Hart Cob GP
Ideal GP

My dressage is a bliss on a classic tree, 17.5” with a lovely deep seat, so I would like something with as deep a seat as poss for a GP what are you’re thoughts and any other suggestions under £1k budget x

Ideal everytime. I have both a GP, event and dressage. They just work and they last a long time. My event saddle is probably close to 30 years old and is the most comfortable saddle I have ever sat on. The leather is starting to wear now, but its been on all my horses (flocked to fit obs!).

Ideal are lovely saddles.

I have a Jeffries F1 on my ID horse.
This saddle send to fit a number of different type horses with a little tweaking.

I had a cavaletti mono jump on trial the leather was beautiful for the price but the tree didn’t for my connie cross ID. So from my experience they aren’t for wider horses but the trial service is a great idea and they where a good company to deal with.

Thanks that’s really helpful as he is a big lad! Great to hear the leather quality is good.
