I am in a bit of a dilemma here, and I am not sure what to do.

BAckground to the story, horsey went to HT couple of weeks ago, and went a little lame afterwards, he is alright now, and rode him lightly last night, and will be bringing him back in to work this week.

BUT i had planned on going to a local ODE (2ft jumps) on 7th may. He hasnt really done much showjumping , so I have planned on going to another small local event (clear round + 65cm jumps). The entries for the ODE have to be in by friday, so if he goes lame again, I will loose all my entry money (£25!!!)

What should i do, not go sj, and go ode, or enter both and hope for the best , or just go sj?

I am a bit of a granny and take the view that if there is any doubt re: fitness/soundness then don't go out competing at all.

If you are sure in your heart of hearts he is sound and the problem is sorted then do both - great fun and small enough not to be too hard on legs BUT if you have any doubts then I'd sadly recommend you do not do either.

Why was he lame, does his foot bruise easily,or did he just knock himself.Things can take a long time to heal completely so be careful. They may let you have your money back with vet note or if they can fill space.

Think he just knocked himself... asking yo what they think to sj at the weekend, as they know more about horses than I do.
