I have my first ever show this weekend and I'm totally confused on what jacket to get, as well as every other item of clothing!!! It's just a local show and I'll only be doing local shows for some time. I have one friend telling me to get a blue one, another telling me tweed and another telling me I don't need one at all? any advice, if I do buy one I don't want to be spending loads.

IMO you will need a jacket, what about something like this, cheap and cheerful?

Have a look around the site, there are a few different sorts and sizes!

I guess it depends on the classes. I have only one jacket (a fine brown tweed) which seems to be appropriate for all disciplines at the lower levels. Showing is weird though, they have all sorts of obscure rules and customs, which I don't understand...

i got a dublin jacket from badminton and its blue with gold piping and it is lush and an absolute bargain at £49.99! looks very expensive but its not!!

I can recommend Ebay

If you are only going to be jumping then a navy or black jacket is fine. If you are planning to show a green or brown based tweed is best.
