I'm about to put an order in for a new trailer. Having not had horse transport of my own before I'm really excited about it but can't decide which one to go for. I've ruled out the Ifor for various reasons so it's between a Richardson and a Bateson. I know it's personal opinion & preference but would appreciate some feedback on what other people have and why they made their choice
Thanks

Both are really well engineered trailers but I think Bateson Deauville is probably the better choice for the following reasons.

The Richardson Rosette is a similar ulw to the Bateson & the Advance is 100kg heavier than the Bateson. Both of these however have only got an internal height of 7' where as the Bateson has an internal height of 7'02" & the Deauville will accomodate horses up to 17h.

The Richardson Ultra & Grande have a much higher headroom of 7'08" but they are both significantly heavier at 1000kg & 1100kg.

Really it depends on the size of your horse/s if you have horses up to 17h then the lighter & well engineered Bateson Deauville would be a good choice. If you have bigger & heavier horse/s then go for the much taller Ultra & Grande.

Oh....I have a Deauville & several friends have bought then following using mine.

Love my Richardson (Advance), tows really well, horses load and travel happily in it. Heard good things about the Bateson but prefered the look of the Richardson. Are you able to test drive both before choosing?
