This is a very stupid question (even more so if you knew how closely I work with the farming community!)

What type of straw should you bed on. I like the idea of barley straw as it's a wonderful golden colour and soft and bouncy. I have always known wheat straw to be limp, dusty and a bit sorry looking. (it does work in Dixon's Dustless very well though!)

which do you prefer?

how much is it round your way?

Barley straw is lovely but, in theory, horses are more likely to eat it than wheat straw. Having said that, an old friend of mine always used barley straw and never had a problem - no reason you couldn't try it, but keep a very careful eye on the horse!!
