I'll limit it to just four!

1) If I do a CCI* at the end of the year can I wear/am I expected to wear a top hat and tails?

2) I'm pretty sure you can't use a double bridle in a 1*, can anyone clarify?

3) My rule book has confused me.. In the BE section it says I need to do 3 novices, clear XC and 1 Int clear XC. In the FEI section online it says the same, yet in my rule book (in the lorry at the yard) I'm sure it said I only needed novice runs clear XC with 2 FEI results (Think it was 2 but I know I have enough..) with no Int result. Plus Rachel was pretty sure they've changed the rules and you don't have to do an Int anymore. (Anyhow, I'm entering Aston Int, but I would like to know!) Clear? No? Thought so..

4) Again, think I already know the answer but can someone clarify; can I wear a nosenet, (with my little permission slip

) at a 1*? (Pretty sure it's no..)

Thanks in advance!

1) yes you can but some people wear normal. I wore normal at Aldon due to high winds and was glad I did as countless top hats flew off mid-test!!

2) No, you're not allowed a double

3)You need to do either an int or a novice 2 day, I cant remember whether you have to go clear or if youre allowed 20pens. Hmmm.....

4) Phone BE and ask, they have all the answers!!

and just to add, dont forget you have to wear spurs in FEI tests, I used to wear dummy spurs on Boss

Thank you Boss, I'd love to wear top hat and tails, but think assessing the weather is an excellent idea! Will phone BE too re nose nets. We'll give it our best at Aston.. Off to bdwp to do the entry now!

Might have to invest in some dummy spurs.. I sometimes jab him in sitting trot by accident.

(My legs aren't quite as long as his Mummy's!) I assumed you had to wear them at Int, but was sure I saw someone without them at Tweseldown on Monday? (Sorry, last question..)

Nope you dont have to wear them at int, only advanced or FEI!

Thniking about it, I think you have to go clear in an int. but I'm sure you'll be fine, if you dont do it at Aston then you'll have plenty of time to have another int run.

Unfortunately only 3 2des run a year - Gt Witchingham, Chepstow and Aldon.
I am pretty sure nosenets are not allowed under FEI as Topping is a head shaker and not a problem doing BE but is FEI. I am sure they mentioned this during a Badminton dressage commentary.

spurs do not have to be worn at one star level

Are you sure? I nearly got elimintaed for this a few years ago!

Thank you for all the advice everyone.

lec, you're right about the nose nets.. And it's pretty pants there are only 3 novice 2de's, don't think I'll make it to any of them. But I'm happy to give Int a shot, he's skipping round novices lately so hoping our luck holds out!

eventersrus is right regarding the spurs but the change wasn't last year. In 2005 at Weston Park we were told that spurs were not required for 1*.
Also agree with the others - you need an Intermediate clear XC or a 2D Novice. BE actually put out a note that the published rule book was wrong in the FEI section but it would be corrected on-line.
