Whinging in the car

Any tips on stopping this ?
He is very noisy in the car , we have just ordered a travel cage , would putting a chewy bone in with him help ? .

I had a young shepherd that cried all the time in the car and it was a case of take her out and drive around as often as possible. I was all for giving up when suddenly she shut up and never cried again. It only took about 10 days though.

The travel crate should help, try covering it too, so he cannot see where he is going, also try taking him on walks tiring him out first, then put him in the car, when he has less energy and more likely to settle, drive to somewhere like the shop and return, he could jdut be assosiating the car with going somewhere posotive(walk) and he is getting excited, unless he is a shepherd or a dobe, then it's jsut their naturally irritating whinge they where blessed with when born

Also, he prob won't show interest in a bone whilst u are on the move, but certainly place him in the crate in the car, and put the bone and him in

and leave the car stationary with him in, repeat this for about an hour each session, again, he will not assosiate the car with going somewhere everytime he is placed in there, confuse him

Lots and lots of very short journeys even if it's just a quick drive round the block. I'm sure he'll get used to it in time though.

All my dogs love the car so never had this problem but two of mine were always sick in the car when they were very young so to help get them used to the movement of the car that's what I did, lots of short journeys. Is he a pup?

Just turned a year old and he's a BT , he has always been vocal in the car no matter where he sits and who with , but yesterday was the worst he's been !

, we will try the driving around though because normally its to go visiting someone or a show so I suppose he views the car as going somewhere exciting , thank you
