Just curious....BC 11 month old pup had since 5months. When he is laying down on floor or sofa or just sat he will sometimes just whine/cry. Have no idea why. Get gets plenty of walks, plays and has dog company.
He has improved alot since having him but was a very independent pup when he first arrived and its causing a few other issues I'm in the process of sorting.....( wants to herd the horses up when we turnout/bring in but ignores sheep/geese/other dogs when I say leave but not horses. Having someone come out and work with us on that one) but his commands away from the horses are just about there.

Is this insecurity? It attention seeking? He will come running up to you and try to climb into your skin for a few minutes then sort of shake himself off and go off.

Thankies:)

I'm afraid I have no idea! But if it helps one of mine does the exact same thing! I've always had pretty silent dogs but Anjo makes SO much noise. Last night he was dozing in his chair and then went to stretch a bit more/get into a comfier position and whined. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a pain related thing, just him being noisy! He regularly makes noises, stretching, during cuddles, in fact just breathing he makes odd noises most of the time!

My dog is very whiny/attention seeking, does it when he is bored, frustrated, wants attention, is excited, hungry, whatever!
For him I would say it is genetic, his father and grandfather are the same, need earplugs to watch them on YouTube :p :p :p

Your definitely not alone! My lab is the same i think he wants attention but then he also grumbles and whines at you when you stroke him he is just a chatterbox!
Even when he yawns the noise he makes is madness.
Not sure if his is genetic or cause he is a spoilt only child who feels he should be centre of attention at all times!
