Today my old cat brought my 6 month old whippet a live baby rabbit. ( Sorry, to all rabbit owners reading this, but that's what farm cat's do!)
He was like a boy with a new toy and the wild cat kitten joined in... between the three of them they polished off their raw food diet. The whippet has lived happily with cats so far, they keep him warm while sleeping which is always a good thing. But now, I'm beginning to wonder if I should leave him alone with the cats, just in case... He has always played with the young one but he has started to put it's head in his mouth and I'm worried it goes too far when I'm not there. The young cat is half wildcat, huge, completely unafraid and surely it would sort him out if he overstepped the mark?
He is a whippet , though.... should I stop leaving them alone in the house?
Any thoughts welcome.
