Thankfully not in my horses!

It's my friends little welsh pony at the yard - and they are just in his rather ample forelock. Are these lice eggs do you think?

She's treated him with louse powder today but we can't see any actial lice, just small white eggs.

Luckily in my twenty odd years of horse ownership I've never had to deal with them, so hoping you lovely lot will be able to advise what they are and how best to treat!

Many thanks :-)

She's done the right thing! You will have seen less of the lice than we used to since the introduction of the 'mectin'family of wormers - they also kill the critters from within - I've not had to treat anything for lice for over 20 years now.

Ah really? That's interesting...so could that be a factor if you didn't keep up on your worming?
I had heard about that, but wasn't sure how it worked but the proof is in the pudding I suppose as like I said I've not had to deal with it (and mine are wormed).
I'll ask her about her worming!
So it definitely sounds like lice eggs?
