I was treating my mare for thrush and her frogs started shedding and left a white frog. Is this normal? Not seen them look like this before!
I've attached a photo

some frog treatments dry out the outer layer of cells, making them look white. Ive seen this with mine. That white outer thin layer will probably exfoliate off as the frog gets healthier, now youre treating for thrush.

Keep spraying daily, its amazing how fast the frog recovers from thrush if we regularly spray.

Phew ok thank you! I was really worried because I couldn't find anything that looks like this. Is it safe to spray blue spray from the vets daily?

Thats the antiseptic spray isnt it commonly used for cuts/grazes?

Really you want something anti-fungal, rather than just anti-bacterial. (Does it say on the can anti-fungal?)
But if thats all you have to hand keep using that.

I use copper sulphate powder, you can get a kilo for 10 euros online....i dilute it in water, transfer to a spray bottle, and that works brilliantly on frogs/white line issues etc. the kilo bag lasts a couple of yrs at least. So effective and cheap.

Its what the vets and farrier advised me its for foot rot in sheep. Its called Alamycin I do think it is just an anti bac.

I've just bought some athletes foot spray which I read can be good, I've just started using it.

This might be the issue I've just been treating for bacteria rather than fungal too so its not fully clearing up.
