I have a yearling filly who I had intended to show this summer, and future summers. Five weeks ago she suffered some sort of injury to her tendon on her back leg. We are still treating the injury and are hopeful the lump will go, however, shes now starting to grow some white hairs on the area. Is there any way to prevent this????
Any help or tips gratefully received, Sara Doran

No, I don't think so. I did have a horse that ended up with some white hairs but they did grow out after about a year, but they were on his nose

You can not prevent this but if you are intending to show the horse you can use shoe polish (as long as the wound is not open) to cover the white hair. It does not harm them and works very well.

Once the white hairs start growing back, I don't believe there is anything you can do.

Would agree with dermagel....

Once the injury has occured use dermagel .

When showing our yearling at balmoral , I picked up black make up for horses, its fantastic stuff , wouldnt go to shows without it now , great for around the eyes and muzzle also .
