Hi

I am currently on shavings but having problems getting hold of them at a reasonable price. I cannot go onto straw as my horse as COPD, but have been looking at White Horse bedding wooden pellets....

Does anyone use them, are they worth it, are they easy to use (particularly with a dirty horse), do they work out cheaper than shavings per week (i go through 1, sometimes 2 bales a week) and does the bed look dirty?

Sorry for all the questions and any advice greatly appreciated!!

I have no problems at all, loved it since I first started, used WHB then LWP but I have a very clean dry horse, if you start off with a good bed and dont go in mean at the outset, you will save loads of money & work in the long run.

We use it. Woodpellet bedding does take some getting used to. It's not as luxurious looking as shavings, and some horses get pretty bad stable stains on it. Also, if your horse is wet, and a box walker, you'll arrive to an, erm.. interesting looking stable every morning! but to cut mucking out time and to drastically reduce costs, you can't beat pellets if straw isn’t an option.
