White markings......................can they change slightly with age?

It's something I've never really thought about until now!

I had a chestnut pony about nineteen years ago and have recently found someone trying to trace info on a chestnut pony, same height, same show name and same traits! She is of course very old now.

When I saw the picture of her I was 100% certain it was her, but when I look hard at some of my old and blurred photos I'm not so sure as I can see very slight differences in the white blaze and leg markings.

So my questions are: Can the white markings change slightly e.g become narrower or reposition very slightly and can hoof colour change at all - I didn't think it could, but as you can imagine I want to be very sure!

Sorry if this sounds a dumb question, but this pony could be mine from a good many years ago.

I think white markings can change slightly. Our beagle has gone from tan and very clear white to lots more mottled white which has taken over from the tan as she has aged. I think with a horse it would not be so obvious as it is much larger. As for hoof colour I think I am almost certainly right when I say no the hoof wall cannot change colour. It can show damage by colour change along the length of it, but the whole hoof cannot change colour.

Thanks Applecart14.

I think I can safely say that it's not my old pony and I'm judging in on one of the hooves being light instead of black.
