Just been watching showjumping on Horse & Country. I know a red ribbon in a tail means a kicker but what does a white ribbon mean???

I was wondering that too. I pretty much guessed it wasn't there for decoration as no one seems to even bother to plait anymore!

I thought it meant that it was a stallion.

Stallions have blue ribbons - maybe it was light blue rather than white??

Stallion ribbon is white with BSJA written in black along it with a line above that is blue and red alternating (best description I can come up with), they are suppose to wear red, white and blue ribbon but the official BSJA ribbon is pratically white.

If hunting a Stallion it should have a Yellow ribbon in it's tail.

But like other's said red/white/blue for BSJA though we never bothered we just put the disks on the bridle!
