I've notice over the last month or so my boy has started to get about 8 small white spots developing on his back and shoulders (he's bright bay). They are very small, only half a centimeter in diameter. They are not due to fly bites, his saddle or pressure from rugs . I remember reading somewhere that there is a condition which causes this in horses in much the same way as humans gets vitiligo.

Anyone else experienced this?

Toytown has the same condition - its something to do with skin pigmentation. There is an article in last weeks H&H about it, its on the bottom of a page in an 'ask H&H' bit. (i think -its definately in last weeks anyway

My horse developed one of these on his shoulder last year. It is vivid white in colour. I haven't worried too much about it particularly after reading H&H and Toytown.
