Need to insure new horse. But not sure who to go with.
How much do you guys pay a month and what do you have on your policy and what value have you covered for your horse. Thank you :)

When I had my boy, had him insured with pet plan, infact always have for all my pets, never let us down, fantastic service and vets, both dogs and horses, recommend them.

I was paying £50 roughly a month, had him insured for £3000, and up to hunting level, so all local comps, hacking etc.

Would always recommend them! We bought a horse with a tumour on his eye (5 stage vetting!), bet missed it so were covered luckily, and they paid out about £6k within a few months of buying him!

Hope that helps

can't remember what it cost but my mare was insured with petplan , she had a rather large vets bill as she had surgery on her leg- and then a box of 100 bute sachets a year later ! they paid out quickly without any complications so would deffo recommend

Per plan
Approx £40 pm
For everything but tack including £5000 vets fees, death , Lou ect

Have never had to claim but heard all good things about them :)

NFU. Pet plan and bhs gold.
Think nfu are about £30 a month for vets fees for mine. I have my oldie insured wth petplan as they were cheaper for retired horses.

I'm with Animal Friends. I wouldn't recommend them as I'm still waiting for my claim to be fully paid after about five months!

Have used PetPlan and NFU with previous horses and both paid out on claims with no issues.

For those of you who just put money in the bank...what happens if your horse were to suffer from a few conditions at the same time? Im sure the money you put away would not cover those vet bills.
