Being nosey I know, but I'm looking for insurance and was wondering who everybody is insured with and if you are happy with them.

NFU

Have not had to make a claim yet but I wanted LOU and they were the cheapest.

Also, my car and trailer are insured with them. I had to make a £6000 claim on the car about a year ago and they paid up with no fuss.

my mare was with KBIS. never had a problem but never really made a big claim. it worked out quite cheap for me.

NFU. Brilliant. Have had to claim recently, unfortunately. Sent one vet's bill into NFU on 28th May and received cheque back on 2nd June; sent in last vet's bill on 20th June, received cheque on 27th. Excellent service (and I rang to tell them so too!)

i'm with NFU, i think they have been great, had claims on two horses into the thousands on both due to leg injury's they paid up and were very good.

Woohoo, I've just rung them to tell them he's going and to insure the new pony

I had Ellis insured with KBIS, they are lovely to deal with.

BHS! I don't go for vet cover or any of the other 'fancy' stuff, I have 3rd party with the BHS and self insurance by putting £50 in a savings acount each month and praying my girl doesn't do anything really stupid!

Pet Plan - have claimed a couple of times with no problems so can happily recommend them.

Don't go with E&L whatever you do! They are very poor payers.

Amtrust. I just called to start a claim today so will know more about their willingness to pay up very soon....

NFU - no problems with a claim for ks operation and they even extended the cover past a year when the treatmet ran over!!

SEIB. Have had two big claims (general anesthetic and hospital stay) in under a year and they have been amazing. Can't recommend them more. Paid out straight away and are very good with not slapping on insane exclusions.

My friend is with KBIS and has had a lot of trouble with exclusions - basically soft tissue in all four legs got excluded when the horse did a check ligament.....

Would not touch E&L with a barge pole. Think it is a disgrace that H&H allows them to advertise so heavily in their publication.

Equestrian Direct. They are brilliant even though I must rate as their worst ever customer with a massive claim made within a few weeks of buying new ned and they'd already paid up on illness and sad pts of previous ned.

Devilsause: Good Luck with any future claim with E&L, they are cheap for a reason & that's because they rarely pay a claim. There are more adverse posts regarding this company than any other on this forum.
