My elderly dog has been suffering with colitis for a while now (intermittent)and although it seems to have cleared up for now, she got so used to the chicken and rice diet she was on that when I gave her usual biscuits back she turned her nose up. She literally starved herself for 4 days and I had to relent and mix it with a bit of chicken.
Although she is now picking at her biscuits again, I am worried that she seems to have so little energy. Someone on here (think it was puppy) was talking about making an omelett with dog biscuits. I tried this tonight and she loved it so I just wanted to share!
Any more tips would be very welcome.........although she is 16 she was in fabby condition and it is only lately that she has gone down hill

Well I am not sure if this is right but I just used 2 eggs in a frying pan, made the omelette and them popped the dry biscuits in the middle and fold over. I waited for it to cool a bit and then chopped it up a bit in her bowl- she loved it!

Yup, that was me

Popple is a terror for picking out the meat and leaving her biscuits, even when I mixed them with scrambled egg, so I found throwing the biscuits in when the egg was still cooking a good trick to get her eating up.

Another things she loves is tuna. Tinned tuna in sunflower oil mixed in with the biscuits - the oil tends to make the biscuits more tasty and because you can break the tuna right down to flakes it's harder for them to separate it from the biscuits.

Another trick is to make gravy to go with them. Or, if I remember correctly Iams make a gravy - I used to use this with my old dog to get her eating up. For Popple it doesn't work so well as she doesn't like the biscuits soggy, but some dogs love it

Hmmm I may be worng ut I was under the impressions Tuna wasn't good for dogs due to the Mercury content? As I say could be wrong!

Although Sardines are a good alternative as very little mercury and sure Popple will like them too
