My horse shies when another horse neighs at him and I fall off? Can I sue the horses owner? Are they culpable for my medical bills and days lost off work cause my backside hurts?

Or how about suing Tesco when one of their bags frightens my horse into a bush and I get pricked by thorns?

Can I complain to the owner of the sheep grazing on the mountain I ride on? They do scare my horse when they run everywhere...they are fiercely ugly and they pop up without warning from behind bushes!

yeah, I tried to sue the girl at our yard who has a palamino pony that wears a full face fly mask. It looked at my horse and frightened it causing me to sprain my ego. Am I being unreasonable?
 
I think you should also consider suing the horses breeder, and the owners of the horses sire and dam for breeding such a monstrous beast. All previous owners of the horse should also be contact and taken legal action against - obviously they haven't trained the horse correctly.

I would also be suing the manufacturers of your saddle and bridle - obviously they haven't done their jobs correctly of a) keeping you on the horse and b) keeping control of the horse.

I would bbq all the sheep,put the scary horse that neighs on Project horses to sell and take out a contract hitman on the owner of Tesco's and when he has been kneecapped just give him a note that says......Every little helps.

I may sue my parents just for the hell of it!
May also sue my daughter for the stretch marks and weak bladder. Sue OH for the grey hair, sue siblings for the post traumatic stress of growing up with them.

The list is endless.......

Being sued is no laughing matter. It happened to me two years ago and the hard thing about it is i did nothing wrong ( so i thought) experienced rider brought my daughters pony off me, advertised amongst other things as hacks out alone and in company. After only having the pony for only 24hrs wanted me to take her back. Reason being she did not hack out alone now she owned her. Told the judge that she tried out the pony for her children and she was experienced enough to decide for herself if the pony was suitable. But then said i forced her to buy the pony. Sorry to bore you all but i am still very angry everyone told me she did not have a chance of winning. The judge was informed that she made false statements she admitted it and still won.
 
Thats precisely what this post is about, I cannot stand the way people sue even when their failings in the situation are apparent to all. I'm no idiot, I know sometimes the situation warrants it, but now, more and more honest people are the ones losing out because some idiot doesn't know their arse from their elbow.

It is something that will stay with me til the grave. She was only after money was asked by the judge why she didn't sell her on, after she had advertsed her for sale. for more money than she had payed i might add. Gave him some bull about trading standards had told her to advertise her to see what response she would get, but not to sell her because she was not hers to sell. Judged laughed at that one but she still won. Ihad to pay all expenses take the pony back and she didn't have to provide one reciept. So be very careful no matter how cut and dried it all seems its not.
 
That's awful! How could she win if she admitted making false statements?? How on earth were you supposed to have 'forced' her to buy the pony?

And what on earth happened to Caveat Emptor??? (even if pony was unsuitable, which I'm sure she wasn't)
 
Because i told her someone else was coming to look at her later that evening. I replied so i forced you to give me a deposit which she conld not answer. My solicitor told me so did consumer direct that a horse sold privately only has to be as discribed ie colour, age, height. And does not have to be suitable for purpose. Its a very long story she lied in writing which i proved and sent in two weeks before the case and he didn't read it. And yes it did start as a post taking the piss. I was just trying to point out its not a laughing matter it ruins lives. My problem was a was to honest and she saw me as an easy target.
 
Definately sue supermarket - their bags are a menace. I wonder if fear of this is the reason they now give less out?

Sheep - yes, I would definately take out some sort of legal action - the are very scary.

I also might sue you for making me jealous with tales of riding on the "mountain" - just not fair!

Fair play for having a pop at people too quick to complain or claim. This is a sad part of life these days.I understand that there are genuine cases......but "no win no fee" has gone mad.
 
It is a world gone mad, its completely pathetic if you ask me, its half the reasons kids can't have fun learning to ride. We need to make a concerted effort to return to the days when we used our common sense to keep us safe and didn't look for someone to blame for every accident.

I have fallen off, injured myself, injured my horse and all sorts over the years and it never once occured to me to look to someone else to blame. I may have missed out on millions!

I happilly bully those who complain needlessly and dupe people out of money, I do not deny it! I am proud to stand up for common sense and responsibility for oneself!
 
Not sure I'd be happy to bully anyone.

I'd express my views and stand up for anybody who may have been 'duped', and I actually agree with your stand on common sense and self repsonsibility, and probably with your views on the thread that triggered this one. But I still think that this thread is unnecessarily taking the p*** out of someone, which is not something to be that proud of in all honesty. It could of been done without so obviously ridiculing another forum user couldn't it?
