Question in title....

is there anyone else except my current horse insurer (petplan equine as im sure it will bump the monthly costs up).....

saddle is worth £800.

Thanks.

Mines included on my home insurance policy, hell of a lot cheaper that actual tack insurance.

You need to have cover away from the home and it won't cover it for damage whilst in use (i.e. horse rolling in saddle or something daft).
Check the policy well though, I worked for my home insurer at the time so know I'm covered!)

ETS when I say a hell of a lot cheaper I mean it changed my policy by about 50p a month!

I'm with petplan - I added my tack to my policy and for £1000 tack cover it cost me an extra £35 a year. so it did bump up my monthly cost - but only by about £3 a month!

NFU cover mine now for not much per month. I had mine stolen from my old yard tack room18 months ago & tried to claim off my house insurance. After several weeks of phone calls, original receipts & replacement receipts, I was eventually told that I couldn't claim as my tack wasn't a 'personal posession'. So having to replace £700 worth I now keep my tack at home & insure with NFU.

Thanks for the replies :)

I will ring petplan tomorow and pop it on there :)

I keep my tack at home anyhow - so its just dropping/breaking :o

I don't bother insuring mine. I keep it at home and none of it is nice anyway :p

Plus my insurer's stipulate more than 10 horses on the yard, tack room needs to be alarmed, so they wouldn't cover it anyway! lol
