As title really, is it part of your lorry's insurance cover or an independent company.
how much do you pay for a 3.5 lorry ?
does your cover, cover for both horse and lorry to be recovered if you breakdown....

There are also a couple of very specialist companies. Try googling "Horsebox Rescue" or "Horsebox Breakdown Service". The specialist companies tend to be the ones used by the professionals as they themselves have a more professional approach to the whole thing.

I now have my box insured via Shearwater (I think!) and I took the extra recovery out which they offered - it's with Equine Rescue Services. Fortunately I haven't had to use it but they have an excellent reputation and were extremely helpful when I initially spoke to them on the phone.

Equine Rescue Services all the way - dedicated control room that employs people WHO KNOW ABOUT HORSES! Makes a huge difference!

Would not use anyone else!

There have been horror stories on HHO!

I can second www.horsebox-insurance.co.uk (not to be confused with horse - insurance.co.uk who are the dreaded E&L!!)

I have my horsebox insurance and horsebox breakdown cover with them. They are a specialist team within a bigger company and when I took out my car insurance with them as well, they gave me a huge discount!!

Really nice people and know what they are talking about!
