We have friends staying at moment, all at home in the warm with beer and wine and I am in the snow watching over a horse showing early colic. Regular sufferer, usually mild, vet is on standby and the owner is not coming at this time...too old to be driving in the snow.

No place else I would rather be though. My baby girl is giving me cuddles and letting me share her warmth in between checks on the possibly colicking boy.

I cannot imagine a life without horses, no matter how hard it can be, they are worth it all!

I'm doing my usual middle of the night check on one of mine. 26yo who had his 2nd colic surgery at end of 2012. Luckily, thanks to having camera in his stable, can do this without leaving my bed! Good luck.

My lil lad had mild colic,I was out there every half hour at least (stable outside house) till about 2am then OH was out at 3 + 5 and I was out at 7. Only had him a month. He was fine. Hope yours is okay xxx

Hi have been on colic watch all weekend mine also regular sufferer of colic , 12am emergency call out to vets , joys of horses but we love them !! X

He was ok. Not my boy, one of the other liveries, but he is too old to be out all night in the cold or driving at that time.

No idea what was wrong with him. All vitals fine but he was up and down like a yoyo.

Glad it isn't just me anyway :-)
