Fly is without doubt so lazy. It takes him a good 20 mins before he even tracks up and even then I really have to work. He is opinionated, bolshy yet so clearly talented. Frustrating! Would be interested to hear from anyone else who experiences the same, or is it just me?

No - mine is the opposite - too much impulsion, not enough submission. Have our first novice dressage this weekend and not holding out much hope for staying in the arena for give and re-take the rein in canter - have only just mastered take and re-take

Are we talking Danish or Dutch? If Danish then yes mine is well opinionated and has occasional 'kevin' moments but he is a baby. He is on the whole shaping up to be a loveable and amenable little soul tho with lots of character.

Yep - I own a dutch mare that must be in running for laziest horse ever award. Oats have no effect, it's just a battle of who is more determined to keep going. If I still have any energy after 20 minutes she starts to get going but i used to be on the verge of collapse by then!

lol!!! Fly is the same, the only time he makes an effort is if jumping is involved and even then only if 'he' wants to! Trouble is if we go on a fun ride etc then hes completely the other way, a lunatic!
