my mare has had 9 months off with tendon damage, daughters since feb with lameness now diagnosed as stifle.

Both are now on the long road to recovery on restricted turnout and walk exercise.. We have had a month of walking in hand building from 5 mins - 20 mins daily and huge excitement, are now walking under saddle starting at 25 mins daily and will be up to 45 mins by the end of the month when, TOUCH WOOD, can start a tiny bit of trot and work up to 1 hr in total mostly at walk for next vet review.. wondering as we walk the village who else is doing this.

im actually quite enjoying it having had months off and keeping everything crossed the outcome is positive for my 2 and everyone else...

Me! Though not for tendons. My boy has exertional rhabdomyolysis syndrome and it cause severe muscle damage in his hind quarters.

He's had a year off now to recover and I had planned to start gently working him and working towards riding him again, but I've suffered a broken knee so I'm out of action now! I don't think my knee will be strong or stable enough to cope with his antics (he rears bucks spins and bolts!) until next year, so he's staying out of work!

Plus he mildly tied up again this weekend :-(

Me too. My tb veteran has injured a the tendon sheath just below his hock. He is pretty much sound now so I think we are nearly there. Lots of slow hacks now!

i am 2 mine had done his check ligament injury same plan as you. i was enjoying the walking but have limited routes that only take 30 mins so nice when we step up a bit in time to go somewere a bit different but its just so nice to ride again

Not tendons but have brought a horse back into work after injury. Started with 5 mins in walk and built it up from there. Took ages to work up to trot, now she's back to full work and is going really nicely.

I have been trying to rehabilitate my horse since last October - after several stays in hospital with tooth and sinus problems we were due to go back for a final checkup in Deember and when there, they found a bone chip in her fetlock. I finally started roadwork with her a few weeks ago, but she is still not sound on the leg where the fetlock chip was - unfortunately it's nothing to do with the bone chip - appears to be higher up!! Physio coming tomorrow morning, but at this rate, I'll still be rehabilitating her in another year!

hi.

i am!! (think you know that tho!x)

mine is for some random back injury/badly fitting saddle issues. i haven't yet ridden in the school through fear it might go wrong. were currently hacking out 3 times a week (had a little canter today!!) and lunging in a pessoa 3 times a week. for the first time in 10 months he feels about right. long road to go but at least were looking in the right direction!!

hows it going with you??
