Who feeds celery?

I was shocked to discover how much natural sugar an apple, carrot contained & after being so careful itch my horses diet I couldn't believe how unbalancing it was.
I heard celery is good, chopped so they don't choke on the stringy bits.
Who else feeds celery?
Is it safe?

Yeh have fed celery to a new pony that was over weight.. He wasn't sure at first but soon got over it..

Yes, I feed celery as a treat not daily or in feed though. They only seem to like small amounts.
