Who has a wooden horsebox?

What do you think of it? Are they easy to maintain?

It would be interesting to know how old your wooden 'box is too. I guess the most recent wooden boxes were built about twenty years ago - does anyone have a more recent one?

That one lloks well maintained. It is hard work rubbing donw and revarnishing, but need to be done before it flakes off and any wood discolours
We had a 1967 Oakley hunting box in wood.
Its had no living, that one does but looks like an HGV, weigth can be an issue as solid wood is heavier than modern Glasonite or Aluminium panels.

we had one for 9 years but i wouldnt advise you touch one , wood is very high maitenance and heavy ( my hubby was chippy and kept it in good order , it would have cost a forttune at a repairers otherwise )

I had a Bedford TK 750 (1978) and that was wooden ... the 7 or so years I had it I watched it slowly deteriorate, but was always going to get it rubbed down and varnished ..... but the job ahead was toooooooooooo vast, so I sold it .... I loved that lorry though as it never ever let me down
