I bought some new little clippers(trimmers) at Burghley so I was trying them out. Have clipped a little bit down the wind-pipe of my lad. But I think I have got to do a proper clip next week before Allerton Horse Trials. Is it just me with my horse who thinks he is a hairy pony (actually a 17hh Warmblood) or are other people finding this? My other horse still has his sleek summery coat.

If Dexter was in work he would have been clipped by now! He grows such a hairy coat, he wont be in work till Oct though so will be clipped then.

Dougal may be clipped by Borde Hill, but we are trying to leave it as long as poss as he is having a couple of weeks off after Borde Hill so ideally dont want to clip till Nov.

My TB is looking woolly too. His coat was coming out loads but in the last few days of rain I've left him out during the day without a rug cause its been mild and he rubs his tail off if he gets too warm and he now starting to resemble a fluff ball. Will start to rug him up if it gets cold and will only clip if I notice him starting to sweat during heavy work

Hen will done by the end of the month. Would do him sooner but his winter coat is still soming through, so would only have to do him again soon after, and I'm too lazy for that!
Plus my winter rugs are all still at the cleaners..... me, unorganised, never!

He has to be doped if you value your life so timing it for events has been a nightmare
