How do you find them? What do you use them for? How do you find keeping them? Like TBs or less precious? There my dream horse and I'd like to go the full hog at some stage and get a registered foaly to bring on.

My new loan horse is a quarter friesian and my instructor used to compete a friesian at affiliated dressage. Both were trekking horses in early life and my boy is now a fantastic alrounder and my instructor reckons he would have got his to Prix St George (sp) level within 18 months if he was still riding her.

Not sure my boy counts as got a few other breeds in him but he is laid back, friendly and tries really hard to please, I knew another part bred once who was just the same.

Yay - I have! Love mine to bits he is an absolute star.
They're not precious to care for as most have been living on open marsh land and are quite tough.
You should check out the friesian horse owners uk group on FB. There are loads of us on there and we're really friendly we should be able to help you make a decision. :D

I have a Barockpinto (98%friesian) x Andulucian who is gorgeous. I have had him since he was a weanling and backed him last year. He is proving to be very trainable with a sensible brain. He may not be the fastest in the world but the power that you sit on is incredible.

I've got five, yep I'm greedy lol. They are all good doers and will quite happily live out all year.

Dandea would be fantastic for dressage but I can't be bothered. We do very very long hacks, pleasure rides and I'm hoping to do trec with her this year.

I have also for a 3yo filly, a 3yo colt, an older semi retired mare and an 8 month old colt foal who I really should sell.

Have you checked out the Friesian thread in the pictures section?

I just think they are beautiful. I'd like to have one mainly for pleasure rides too. I'm not too fussed about competing but I wouldn't want to feel like I was wasting them either. I'd like to buy a foal and bring one on but I need to get more experience first I think.

You could always come and visit mine if you are ever in the area.

I find them really easy to deal with, the risks especially are really easy to handle because they are so people friendly

I have 2
Did have 3 but recently sold one
I brought 2 from holland and is the best place to get from if you want a nice put together one , that is registered , do your research tho as you can also get dodgy ones ,
You can get ones over here but again do your research and have all youngstock vetted etc
And make sure all paperwork is in order and its to the right horse
I have to different Friesians one holds weight extremely well and the other that is hard keeping weight on
My are only babys at the moment but would like to progress my 4 yr to dressage
Friesian are mainly used for dressage and driving purposes
The can jump but recomemmed not to jump to often as excieve jumping can put strain on tendons
Also Friesians are slow matures
So you would need to take things slowly ! Part from that they are a stunning breed
