Who is best to use for horse insurance?

I am looking for insurance for my horse and want to eventually event him and do some hunter trials. I have noticed that a lot of the cheaper policies exclude hunter trials and hunting, some also ask for a percentage of vet fees following a claim too. Can anyone recommend a company that offers good cover and not cost the earth. Thanks

I use KBIS. They are competitive and also pay out when you need them to

I find Amtrust v competitively priced and they have paid out a number of claims no quibble and v fast. Money in within a few days of claim being made.

Another vote for KBIS - been with them for 10 years - never had any hassle from them and always paid out quickly and with no fuss.

I use NFU and they have been excellent with a recent claim, I know quite a few people who use them and would recommend.
Not necessarily the cheapest, but was cheaper than Pet Plan and about the same as KBIS when I rang round for quotes.
