So the market is rubbish, and its coming to the time of year that we think about covering.....who is breeding what, and are they for keeps, or for sale?
I am torn with my gang the way forward

I am breeding my SPM hanoverian who is by Laurent x Federweisser x Fabriano, so bred for both jumping and dressage. I do focus more on dressage but love a horse with a good engine and jumping blood sure gives you that!

Haven't narrowed down the list too much yet but will only be breeding in June so plenty of time to rethink my options!

I am hoping to breed from my graded KWPN mare by Ferro this year, but I just cant decide on a stallion. I have almost decided on Amour G, but I am so taken with Bellissimo... at least I still have a bit of time to choose.

Well i am breeding a few this year?!! i have 9 foals due, 3 are reserved already, have 14 to re cover. will say stallions i have chosen are proven and graded but i cant name as they are my own and most of my mares are either graded or proven in sport. all bred to sell and i usually keep one! but i also have ability to run them on that dont sell.

Possibly ny homebred Trakehner mare (Tycoon x Achtermann) to my own homebred showmaker stallion, but no decision on that for another month.
If budget allows it then one last foal form my fabulous retired advanced eventer (Landino x Punjab xx) to the new Arko son Aristio.

I have one foal due to Grade A International SJ mare by Lars Irco - she is in foal to Voss.

All being well I shall put the same mare back in foal possibly to Barricello, John Whitaker's 7 year old Heartbreaker stallion.

I also intend to put another Grade A International mare by Hors La Loi out of Grandeur mare in foal probably to Kannan.

The products will be kept, broken and produced and then we shall select which we keep.

We are breeding just the one to keep using our homebred private stallion ASD who has 2 crosses to Nureyev he is by the same stallion as Angrove rumbaba our ex coloured racehorse, ASD is to cover Angrove rumbaba dam to produce a guaranteed coloured +90 % TB this foal will be retained to race

we only breed very small numbers. We have a pure bred CB filly this year.

Next year we will have two four year olds for sale a Shagya and a ShGxCB.

We plan to cover a Shagya and a CB mare with our own stallion this year and in 2014 have two four year old (will be 5) CB mares to cover, both will be for pure bred CBs. One to our own stallion and one with AI to Borderfame Prince Charming who is now dead.

If those of us who breed rare breeds give up - we may see the end of the stud book.

I'm going to use Barricello and Aristio on my two mares, and Cador on the third, which stands at the Sosath stud in Germany.

One or two of my thoroughbred mares to Jumbo, maybe one mare to CevinZ and several more to my show jumping stallion. All depends on foaling 9 due.

Last year I said Sparks was my very last foal - ever but I got persuaded by OH of all people to do it again but that is definitely it for me; in fact I'm wanting to sell most of what I have anyway and that includes Bea (Witches Broom) either before or after foaling.
Our circumstances have changed here so I need to cut down completely and when the better weather comes, ha-ha, the pics will be taken for the adverts of them all.

In my dreams, if I was to use Bea again, due to the promise shown by Kitty in all of her training so far, I'd probably toss and turn between Ramiro B and Weston Justice. Considering I'm not a fan of warmbloods that's quite interesting lol.
