Exactly what I was about to say, where is Mark Todd - he would always get my vote.

I guess from your user name you may not remember him though....

Mary King-super rider-and a lovely person as well plus she's still going strong while all her contempories have faded out of the picture.

Mark Todd for me
Good in all 3 phases - Could ride any horse from lazy to very sparky and get the best out of them. Could ride horses he had never sat on at world level and win. Finally for me the best recommendation is any horse who went to someone else from him never did as well.

Mark Todd too. But seeing as you missed him off I voted for Lucinda Green, I watched on of her clinics once and she was fantastic. Shame I wasn't riding but I still learnt so much! She really knows her stuff, AND how to teach.

I know Im an oldie but I would vote for someone who won medals in 1952 and 54 olympics and rode a horse called Countryn=man, which cost £90 because it was deemed unrideable. The great mans name- Bertie Hill

I'd have to say Mark Todd , but also Lucinda Green - both fantastic riders .

Andrew Nicholson is surely worthy of a mention ?

Going back in time - Sheila Willcox ( later Waddington ) , who I think trained Mary King in the early stages of her career .

I also rate William Fox Pitt & Mary King - as you can see I find decisions hard !

Ginny Leng was great too & Pippa Funnell has a great understanding of her horses - I give up !

Sorry , Ginny Holgate/Leng /Elliot - did you know she smashed her arm in a fall aged 21 & it was nearly amputated ?

She said riding was not a problem as strength came from her shoulder , but still think it's no mean achievement !

Mark Todd for me. But out of the brit riders I have to say Ian Stark was always my favourite, but you dont have him on your list either.

I have a claim to fame that might impress you then.. i'm probably the youngest person (bar his family members) still eventing today (and therefore the last person) to have a lesson from Bertie Hill
