I am a librarian and manager of a large library and over the last year I have really come to dislike my job, it's now a means to an end (to pay for George). I love the librarian part of my job but don't do much of it now, wheras the management side of things drives me mad. The problem is the job is local, really good hours and fits in well with looking after George.

So I wondered, who has a job they love, and what horsey related jobs are recommended.

Ok must actually go to work now!
 
No I'm not keen on mine at the moment. I would like a horsey related job that will keep a family of 5 in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I love my job but then I am self employed and have several projects on the go at once. I work at a clients offices 2 days a week and the rest from home on my own website business and marketing business. I have been self employed for years now and would not go back to being an employee for love nor money! It has it's down sides to it but I can at least nip out and ride my horse all year round!

I absolutely adore my job - atm while i'm on my gap year i've been working as a freelance rider and i love it - it means I usually get the problem horses that noone will ride for free and the owners won't ride themselves, but I also have a few bread and butter horses and a few young horses - and i love them all like they were my own. Have learnt so much this year and met so many amazing (and useful)people.
 
I hate hate hate my job and if I could leave today you wouldn't see me for dust. Unfortunately I have to pay the mortgage and livery bills

But really... "no" my job is very boring, but it pays the bills and keeps my Big lad, so until my dream job falls into my lap, i will get my butt there and do what i have to do

In the last few months i have landed my dream MAN and my dream HORSE so maybe the JOB will be next!!

I love my job. I am self-employed and run a small mail order business. I worked in an office for 18 years doing boring IT stuff and I grew to hate it so much that I could finally no longer force myself to drive there without feeling ill. That's when I knew it was time to leave and I have never regretted it.
 
I love my job when my bank balance is not in the red. but thats all part of being self employed, being able to pick and chose which jobs to do when, so I had better get out to the workshop and finish the bridle I am making, then make a pair of tugs for a carriage driving customer, and then continue making a biothane driving harness that a customer wants for next week!
 
I don't particularly like my job at the moment.... well I say job, I think more place of employment. I am a teacher and have been at the same school for 6 years, (ok, one of the "best" in the area .... think news headlines at Easter, "Girl Not Allowed to go to Prom for not attending after school classes" and you get the idea of the attitude of the management). I think a fresh start in a new school would be fantastic, but there are very few suitable positions about - I refuse to change to something else for the sake of changing - it has to be the right move.

I couldnt imagine anything else at the moment and do quite enjoy my job, its varied challanging and fits with the rest of my life quite well....
 
my job is k, crap wages and its boring though - quite repetitive!

the guy i live with says i have a problem with boredom....after 10 minutes im bored. hence why im on here all the time. double hence why im getting into trouble at work because im so behind.....
 
Hate my job!!! Im on a placement type thing from uni, so stuck in an office for 8 hours aday with a crap boss. Thankfully my other boss is horsey so when i need to leave half an hour early for something to do with Bea, she normally just lets me go! Will never do a job like this again!! then again im only working to pay for my car and social life as the parents pay for Bea (i share her with my mum)
 
Absolutely love my job but for the last 3 years have been in a specialist post so not dealing with the everyday blah that had made me thoroughly bored and stale.

It should get even better when I pull off the sideways move I have planned for the autumn.

Hours are very antisocial but the pay is good and I do get to ride lots even in the winter

I worked for the same business for 32 years....I loved it except the last couple of years when I was messed about. The job was very high pressure & the responsibilities grew & grew. I arrived at work one morning & thought "Stuff it" & I resigned/retired on the spot. It was a big shock for those I worked with.

I now have a reasonable pension (I retired early I'm not on a zimmer frame yet) & after a few months off I got a part time job & I love it. I work every weekday for a few hours delivering school dinners to village schools & doing a bit of fetching & carrying. There are no pressures, it tops up my pension & I have every school holiday off which leaves me loads of time for my horse. Life isn't too bad really

I'm a PA at the Royal Vet College. I have horses, dogs and even Alpaca's walking past my window everyday! Being surrounded by animals, I'm completely in my element!

Doggie comes to work with me.

Boss is totally cool, doesn't mind if I need to leave work early for vet, farrier etc. Completely understanding!

Been here just over a year and used to work as an Events Manager for an exhibition company - which I did hate - boss was complete *rse*ole!!!
 
just changed my job again. i have flitted over the years of office work and working with horses. i am now part time at a local private yard with 2 other girls and i love it, have plenty of time to fit in riding my own and sorting the family out too.
 
I love my job! I work at a yard and get to ride lots of nice horses and generally look after and be around them all day. Most of the people I work with are nice and because I ride and teach aswell as general yardwork it never becomes monotomous. It is tiring though! ..but great

My last day on Saturday at my current job, and then I start my new one next week which I can't wait to do

Used to work with horses, but have to say much prefer it as a hobby, rather than a career type prospect. Don't get me wrong - I had a brilliant time for 3 years, but still prefer it as my relaxation.
 
I like my job and it is fairly interesting, although there are a couple of aspects that I do not like:
- managing people (complete waste of my time).
- meetings.
