Gah! Just lost Henry for a short period one our walk when he flushed a pheasant and vanished off in hot pursuit (word to the wise Henry - spaniels can't fly!)

Honestly! Sometimes it feels like the whole world is out to get us

On the upside, I have found a potential gundog trainer, am going to give her a call tomorrow

Poor woman, I hope she knows what she might be letting herself in for

It's all a bit gutting at the moment tbh, all our hard work has been set back by the mammoth spoiling he has had while I have been away so we are going back to basics. Flushing birds was not really part of the plan!

back to basics is never a bad thing, just be careful not to let things get boring him or you'll be onto a losing battle that way. As for the basics, get them perfect twice, three outings and move on. It's in that scatty spangley head somewhere, just need to jog his memory!!

Would really love to help you ... god damn living in the deep dark depths of Kernow!!!! lol

God knows, I need help - at the moment I am trying to train him to do a job that I have only ever seen from the far side of a humungous field

He did really well today until the unexpected pheasant popped up and yesterday he managed to maintain a sit when a muntjac leapt up about 10 metres away, even though he was desperately interested in going to see what it was, so all is not lost

I just need some guidance! Hope this lady can help, keep your fingers crossed everyone!
