A facebook memory popped up today, about Spike and our epic colic battle. Three years ago now, and I still remember two things - how unbelievably knackered I was, after 7 days of hourly checks, and how brilliant everyone on this forum was - keeping me sane, thinking positive thoughts for Spike, and, one member in particular, who drove her box from deepest darkest Hampshire to do horse ambulance duty - and refused to take a penny for fuel/her time.

The old man made a complete recovery, and is living the life of Riley with a friend of mine these days. He's very much loved, and he behaves FAR better for her than he ever did for me.

Funnily enough I was only thinking about Spike a couple of days ago and was going to ask you how he was doing. Lovely to hear he's well and happy.

I miss having him around - he was a very good spare horse, and awfully sweet. However, it was in his best interests to go and be someone's No1 horse, and he's having a very lovely life.
