Just wondering who rides in these halters. I love mine, but havent ridden in it.

I am tempted to set the basics with schooling with my 5 year old using one and then move onto a bridle.

Anyone done this.

I have done it but only when my first horse got a scratch on her face and the bridle would have rubbed it. I'm not sure I'd start a horse in one though.

What is wrong with starting in a bridle? Just a principle of pressure and release like all other riding aids whether seat or hand. The nose is more sensitive than the mouth in my opinion so as much / more care and sensitivity required. It is the hands that are the tools and how you use them is what matters. 30 years of riding and I still work hard to feel and follow my horses. Takes time to learn feel, not gadgets or gismos even if they claim to be 'natural'. Just my take on it.
