I don't have use of a school
, but I want to start schooling my boy in a field, it's just I don't have any that are overly flat, but I can make doo!
Question being, do you use markers or maybe make your own make shift fencing out of tape etc?
I don't even know if the land owners would mind(it's livery based) any thoughts.,?

I use electric fencing for the 'arena' - not electrified obviously , it works well and find horses work better in designated space rather than using an open area. Good luck!!

i do - i ride round the field to i find a bit that feels nice under foot. usually has a slope on it and i start schooling- no letters, and usually no fence! If i were to come off, horse has whole field to roam and usually gate's open so back to the stables is a likely route. only use markers when practising for dressage tests and usually have some circles or areas worn down already for my markers to go around - really easy to do the width of the school from my circles :o

At my old yard we had no school so used the field, we used electric fencing to mark out the school. It worked quite well as you could move the school around so if it was a bit rubbish, you could move it to where the ground was better, as the horses hardly ever went out in that field, it was just used for ridden work. I much prefer having a proper school, but it was bearable and worked quite well :)

Paint some bits of wood (preferably old rails) white and use to mark out your school - a bit like dressage boards. You can buy letters that stick in to the ground and voila your very own moveable school!

Meee, I have electric taped off the flattest corner of the field so 2 sides are hedge and the other 2 taped. I bought some little dressage marker cones for around £22, and we manage ok. Would love a rubber surfaced arena though... *sigh* x
