Who trims their own horses' hooves?

Hubby bought me a DVD on how to do it.

It's still wrapped in cellophane. I don't trust myself to do the job properly.

Besides, if I started trimming my own that means I wouldn't have my farrier to flirt with every few weeks. :D

This is the full kit, I use the double ended rasp. There are no barefoot trimmers round here, but I try to do enough road work to self trim, but not that easy in winter.
The best video is on the Cavallo website.
Barefoot is easier to manage than shoes, and feet are healthier. I save £365 per year [farrier], spend an extra bit on keeping bed clean, I don't have to worry about losing shoes. Its a new interest, and I note my horse's feet are better than any on the yard.
Its lovely hacking out so quietly
