fizz got really really bad burns from the shires one and refused to move when it was put on other than to throw herself on the ground

I have used one for the past 2 years or so and found it really good, I use it with the headcollar. Pony can eat and drink with it on, possibly eats a bit too well. BUT this past week she keeps getting the darn thing off. I daren't go out and leave her in the field now, one minute she is there with the muzzle on and next minute muzzle is lying on the floor. Not sure how the little b... is doing it but its driving me mad

My mare got really bad burns from the shires muzzle. She has a greenguard muzzle which I use with the greenguard headcollar. This hasnt rubbed her (she has it on for 12 hours during the day, then comes in at night)If you dont use them with the greenguard headcollars then horses seem to find them easy to remove!

PLEASE be really careful if you use the actual Greenguard headcollar with these muzzles. They do not have a break point in them, so your horse could come to serious harm if he or she got hung up in something. Far safer to use a Fieldsafe headcollar with it instead.

The manufacturers of the Greenguard headcollars confirmed this BTW, this isn't wild speculation.

I'll not be much help as I only bought mine last weekend! But my boy was rubbed raw in a bucket style one after wearing it happily every other day last year. He has to wear a muzzle daily this year and so far seems happy in the greenguard. Its letting his sore face heal and seems much 'airier' than the other- he doesnt sound like Darth Vader any more either

He has the headcollar too and so far no sore bits.
