Oh no...why?

It doesn't say why. Sentence reads " there was also Mr Pracatan, so quietly consistant at 4* level, but now retired and returned to owner Anona Young"

I heard the owners could afford to keep him with Andrew. Obviously not the case.

He wasnt that old was he?

Saw the article earlier today. What a shame, he looked great last year, so never expected him to be retired so soon. I really loved him - he was so loyal. Wish him a happy retirement.

I think its nice to retire a horse at its peak- he has nothing left to prove and put in some cracking performances.
I'm sure he'll be out in the hunting field where he was bred to belong!

Just found this thread and wondered if anyone could shed anymore light on Mr Pracatans retirement- really surprised to hear about it! Such a shame that we won't be seeing him at Badminton again this year!
