but Bobbie likes to jump. In my wisdom I decided to teach her to jump today. Probably not my wisest idea as I struggle with standing long enough to lunge properly, but I've started painting my carriage so cant use it at the minute and thought I'd better exercise her. I didnt think she would think much of my latest idea but she loved it. I tend to still think of her as the lazy, chubby pony I bought, but actually shes pretty forward thinking now.

Headcollar and loose lunge line with me trailing round after her, and we went from trotting poles to 2ft6 in about 6 goes, and she really enjoyed it. I'm regretting selling her saddle now as I have tons of people clamouring to ride her. Watching her today even I wanted to ride again and I said I was done with riding forever! She is the most genuine, willing little horse. I've never had one that makes everything this easy before and its been a revelation!

Surprising what they can do sometimes. I had a hairy cob a couple of years ago that would loose jump his own height no bother. You wouldn't have expected it by looking at him.

You can see how much she’s loving it! I’ve noticed on your photos the look of sheer concentration on her face, it’s very endearing.

She's such a sweet, willing girl.

It's such a shame that this type so often end up being pushed too far in the wrong hands because they will keep going and the signs that they are uncomfortable are so very subtle.

Could you set up some ramps for the carriage wheels so that you can jump her driven? :p

(not a stupid question, just a stupid joke ;) )

She tries so hard and wants to get it right so much that she really, really concentrates. She went round the edge the second time as I cant judge depth very well with all the eye stuff, so missed the jump completely, and all it took was a No! and she started lining herself up.

Dont get me wrong, sometimes shes a pain. Shes a 5yr old and does have the odd teenage brat moment, but on the whole she is just the most genuine little horse I've ever met.

We took her to the pub last weekend and she was genuinely bemused as to why we were there and why people were fussing over her, but considering its only the 6th time shes ever been out on a road, and shes never been asked to stand harnessed up for any ;ength of time, she was brilliant

And just because it was sunny and I had the loan of a competent teenager, yesterday bobbie learnt to jump with a rider. No saddle and I decided that a headcollar was probably a better idea than a driving bride and blinkers, and off she went. Shes not been sat on since autumn last year so she was a bit backwards thinking to start, then it clicked and she found forward

I just realised I put up a video with just music. Having seen these live, I know that half of the experience is listening to the lady shrieking at her horses!

When I saw her, she even had a cow doing the pulling, over a tall ramp that was on fire...

On second thoughts, I can understand why they put the first video to music
