If cameras already add pounds to you, taking a picture with a bodyprotector on can easilt make you look like the Michelin man...

So... who of you can actually look good in one - or share the misery of others?

I only have one photo of me in a bodyprotector and I look like a COMPLETE dork, especially as I am also wearing my raincoat.

This is me on the lovely Aubrey when I rode in Ireland:

Feel free to mock my appearance. :P

They arent there for looks though are they!

TBH I couldnt care less how stupid I look, as long as it protects me if I fall off!!! Would rather look stupid and alive!

my old rigid one looked awful!
but i must admit my new recesafe one is far better
i still look awful but better than i did lol ;)

I blame the extra pounds on the body protector where as if i dont have it on i have nothing to blame!!!!
As previously said there not for looking good they are for keeping you that bit safer

Yes there very flattering...NOT, mine just makes my fried eggs even more like an ironing board chest :o but at least I fit into kids size :D

Lol Kenzo....try being a 34DD......my body protector makes me look ENORMOUS!!!!! with big gaping bit by my armpits!! i will try and pload a pic.....i could win this one ;-)

Kenzo, Juno & HollyWooz - you all look fab, what are you talking about

Being a skinny wench, I look like a fat jacket potato, with cocktail sticks for legs, arms and neck, with a pea head - oh, and then when I put a hat one, I look like a pea with an eggcup on top.

Better to be safe than sorry, so I don't care.

haaaaaaa, sorry but that did make laugh :D

Tasel....what body protector do you have....i tried all apart from a race safe one. The airowear outlyne one for "women" didnt fit at all....was tight around my cest and gaped around my rib cage! all of the others were either too long, too small or too big, so i gave up and bought the cheapish one that semi fitted!

Spychick - Well, I have the Racesafe one... and yes, it's good in terms of protection and fitting... UNTIL you look into the mirror. The padding is a lot more shaped due to the panel structure but, it is also very thick and easily adds inches.

My friends already laugh and say I could rival Katie Price in size easily - and that's without Bodyprotector!!! Basically, I look like an ice lolly!!!

Me too - or at least I was before I had my last baby, I am still waiting for them to subside after breastfeeding and its not happening! I am also very round shouldered so I am bulbous in both directions, and I also have the matchstick legs - sigh

I expect there is some kind of website for weirdos to purve at oddly shaped ladies looking like turtles in their BP's

More bleach needed for my brain now, thank you:mad::p:D

I've only ever worn borrowed bog standard ones from trekking centres and I hated them but I might invest in one if I'm going to start riding again - can anyone recommend one (sorry for the hijack OP:o)

You'll find the Racesafe one is the most recommended, Spudlet - just don't look into the mirror unless you are extremely skinny.

Not looking in the mirror is my general rule in life anyway:D

Thanks for the rec, I might have a poke about while I'm at Badminton and see if I can try a few on:)

I swear by racesafe too, really comfortable and adjust with ties at the sides so can wear over t-shirt, jumper, whatever.

Still really unflattering though!

TOTALLY know what you mean! I'm size 12, 34 DD and look crazy in a back protector! There is a big gap under my arms and I look like a giant mushroom. I recently got a rodney powell one (yellow and green) and so now I just look like a moulding mushroom.

Thats hilarious! ....... we need pics!!:D

I would upload pics, but I'm at uni and have none with me (all on home computer - this one is designed to be for vet school only purposes....humm... ). However, if you load of odd-shaped-women-in-back-protector-pervs still want me to, I can post pics at the weekend! Hehe!
