I read it more that we were different with no clear advantage to either, but that females have hitherto been expected to ride as if they were men...

(but without the yelps of pain, eh PapaFrita....)

didnt read the artical but i did read somewhere that men like to be in control and the boss of the horse so it doesnt always work out in contrast sometimes it means that the horse performs better as women tend to view it as a partnership and are softer on their horses. (sorry if it says something like that in the article im just too lazy today )
